In the same way, 12 more guerrillas of that criminal structure would have been neutralized. It is the most decisive blow that this terrorist group has received in 2018.
Antioquia. Troops of the Seventh Division of the National Army, gave the most decisive blow against the ELN in the course of 2018. In military operations, 10 guerrillas died, including the leader of that terrorist structure in Lower Cauca region, in the department of Antioquia.
This person would be José Evaristo Gelvez Galvis, alias “Cachaco”, who would be in charge of about 120 men who commit crimes in that region. In the same action, three more individuals belonging to the same illegal group were wounded.
The action occurred in the village El Bejuquillo, in the rural area of Cáceres, in the department of Antioquia. The troops, guided by precise information obtained by members of Military Intelligence of the National Army, which determined that there was a meeting of 'Cachaco' with several men, planning the execution of criminal operations against the Public Force, the productive infrastructure and the civilian population.
In this operation, military aircrafts and men of the Special Forces were deployed. By means of an aerial assault operation, they disembarked at strategic points by means of rappel insertion technique, prior to a bombardment carried out with the support of the Colombian Air Force.
Two guerrillas were in the same way captured and nine rifles, six short weapons, twelve fragmentation grenades, communications equipment, abundant ammunition of different calibers and documentation on computers, USB drives and books, belonging to that group were found. At this hour all of these elements are analyzed by specialized military intelligence personnel of the Seventh Division of the National Army.
Alias "Cachaco", 43 years old, would be the second in command of the "Darío Ramírez Castro" War Front of the Eln. As it has been established, this individual would have been about 23 years in that criminal organization.
