La Guajira. Men and women of the National Navy traveled to the department of La Guajira from Cratagena, to carry out the Development Support Day Number 23, benefiting the different communities belonging to the Wayuu Indigenous ethnic group.
The day was carried out in the municipality of Uribía, in the hamlets of Puerto López, Topia and Waretpa, supplying 11,624 gallons of drinking water and 400 bags of Bienestarina (food supplement). In the same way, with the support of the E.S.E. Hospital de Nazaret, the necessary medical and dental care was given to this population.
Troops of the Marine Infantry Mobility Battalion No. 1, the Logistics Support Ship ARC "Golfo de Morrosquillo", the Marine Infantry Battalion No. 12 and the Coast Guard Surveillance Station of Punta Espada, participated in the activity and they provided transportation, security and distribution of basic elements possible for more than 533 people in the region.
