Atlantico. Units of the National Navy in a coordinated operation with the National Police, found 263.78 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride hidden in a beach at the south of Barranquilla, in the department of Atlántico.
In the early hours of the morning, an aircraft of the Aeronaval Group of the Caribbean detected a suspicious speedboat. The Rapid Reaction Units of the Coast Guard Station of Barranquilla conducted a maritime chase. The crew of the suspicious motorboat, upon noticing the presence of the National Navy, took the boat and escaped.
For this reason, a special group of Naval commandos of the Caribbean was sent and they found a fiberglass motorboat, blue, with 3 barrels of 55 gallons of fuel each, inside. In the same way, when checking the area, they found 11 bags containing 263 rectangular packages with a substance that appeared to be narcotic substances.
The material was taken to the Coast Guard Station of Barranquilla, where the Personnel of the Police Department carried out the Preliminary Test, giving positive results for 263.78 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
The drug belonged to the organized armed group known as the "Clan del Golfo" that would send the shipment to the United States, where it would cost close to 9 million dollars in the international market. The alkaloid was put into custody of the Dijín of the National Police.
