Leticia, Amazonas. In recent hours, a boy from the Arara indigenous community had to be evacuated by members of the National Navy. The boy, just 10 years old, was the victim of a snake bite.
A unit of the Coast Guard Station in Leticia, which was conducting surveillance and control operations close to the community, received the emergency call of an inhabitant of the sector, reporting on the state of health of the child.
The boy who suffered a bite in his right leg, was moved along with his mother quickly to the boardwalk in the municipality of Leticia, where he was received by an ambulance and transported to a hospital in the municipality.
Thanks to the timely reaction of the personnel of the National Navy and to the medical assistance received, the child recovers satisfactorily.
