In order to counteract the criminal intentions of illegal armed groups, multi-mission heroes promote institutional campaigns against extortion.
With the idea of continuing preventing extortion and take action against the criminals who carried out this crime, the Sixth Brigade through the Support Battalion of Comprehensive action and Development N ° 5 and the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Tolima Group, raises awareness among the community by means of different activities and invites the people of Tolima to take into account the recommendations to be more secure and strengthen the campaigns against extortion.
In the first activity, the soldiers visited the main commercial establishments of the municipality of Chaparral where they distributed the flyers with a message of invitation to denounce any irregularity that threatens the tranquility of the region through the toll-free number 147.
On the other hand, they started dialogues with the community of the municipality of Gaitania, in the municipality of Planadas, where they alerted the community to react, for example, if they received a call from a person who identified as a member of the Public Force, that a family member has been detained and that a certain amount of money is requested for procedures, by calling the authorities immediately to denounce this ; it may be a new form of extortion used by criminals to deceive the people.
The Sixth Brigade of the National Army sends a message to the inhabitants of the department of Tolima to denounce all kinds of extortions in the national free of charge line 147. The Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Tolima, invites the community to be part of the campaign “I do not pay, I denounce”.
