Chocó. According to the requirement of the National Personnel Recovery Center, the Air Combat Command No. 5, made an overflight in the municipality of Unguía, in the Department of Chocó, where a conflagration has already consumed several hectares of forests.
This mission was carried out with a C-208B aircraft for the recognition and revision of the dimensions of the fire on this area.
Relief agencies and firefighters of the department of Chocó work on land to control the fire, which apparently was intentionally caused by the inhabitants of the sector to force some types of turtles go out of their habitat.
Although the flames are already controlled, UH-60 helicopters and CACOM-5 crews maintain on alert with the Bambi Bucket system to operate in firefighting if required.
