The Army continues to reach the most vulnerable communities of the Tolima territory, combining interinstitutional efforts with the purpose of bringing progress and development.
Tolima. In order to mitigate the priority needs of the population and provide welfare and progress, the soldiers of the Sixth Brigade arrived in the village of Bulgaria in the municipality of Libano, in the north of the department of Tolima, with a wide range of medical and recreational services.
The activity was carried out in the main sports center of the Isidro Parra school, in coordination with the municipal mayor of Libano, multi-mission heroes of the Infantry Battalion N ° 16 "Patriotas", of the Support Battalion of Comprehensive action and Development Nº5 and with support of the Air Combat Command No. 4, the Military District No. 4, the National Police, the Voluntary Heart Foundation of Ibague, as well as institutions such as Shalom, Family Welfare, Coffee Growers Committee, Banco Agrario, Banco Bamcamia, Avicol company, School of Stylists, and other institutions, to benefit more than 420 people in that population.
During the activity, 59 people received services in general medicine, 74 in dentistry, 38 in vaccination, 48 in growth and development, 30 in psychology, 40 in pediatrics, 50 optometry, 40 in audiometry and 41 in gynecology. In the same way, they provided legal advisory. For its part, the team "Faith in Colombia" provided advice on productive projects and environmental management, in addition people received complementary services such as hairdressing, manicure and lectures. The community in the same way benefited of the distribution of 200 clothing kits, school kits and sports kits.
Meanwhile, children and adolescents lived a day full of smiles and joy, thanks to recreational activities. In addition, they received the spectacular show and presentation of high-level dog training, face painting, balloon twisting, drawing workshop, among others .
During a psychological checkpoint, carried out on the road from Libano to the village of Bulgaria, the team "Faith in Colombia" of the Support Battalion of Comprehensive action and Development Nº5 distributed 200 trees of several types in order to encourage conservation and protection of the environment.
The community expressed its voice of gratitude to the soldiers of the country and government institutions that led the activity, which seek the social transformation of its inhabitants and the development of the communities.
