Bolivar. In order to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of Santa Cruz del Islote, in the San Bernardo Archipelago, the National Navy successfully carried out a Development Support Day that benefited 480 people.
During the day 271 consultations of gastroenterology, gynecology, general medicine, dentistry, psychology and urology were made, and 170 prescriptions were distributed.
This activity, led by the Coast Guard Station of Coveñas, included the participation of the Marine Infantry Training Base, the Marine Infantry Battalion No. 14, the Military Health Establishment 1049, the Professional Officers of the Naval Reserve of Cartagena and Sucre, the Childhood and Adolescence Police of Sucre, the Foundation Mostrando Caminos, the Organization Samaritan's Purse, the ESE Hospital of Cartagena de Indias, the Community Council of Negritudes of Santa Cruz del Islote, the Corregidor of Santa Cruz del Islote. It counted on the support of the Coveñas Naval Social action, the Sueños de Mar Foundation, the Múcura Club Hotel, the Edificio Agua Hotel, the Nautical Club Mundo Mar and the Santa Cruz del Islote School.
In addition to the health services, talks on oral health promotion and prevention and talks on principles and values were held; humanitarian aid was distributed, comprising 12,024 units of liquid Bienestarina (supplement food), toys kits for more than 150 children, footwear and clothing; in the same way, recreational activities were conducted with clowns, face painting and balloon twisting.
