In recent hours, men of the National Navy carried out the rescue and evacuation of two men who had been missing since last June 27, in Puerto Leguízamo, in the department of Putumayo.
A 40-year-old man and his 25-year-old son had embarked on a journey on a rudimentary boat, over the Caucayá River in order to carry out hunting activities. They got lost in the density of the river and the jungle.
The wife and mother of the disappeared men, gave notice to the Municipal Coordination of Risk Management, who immediately began the search tasks in coordination with the National Park La Paya, the María Angelines Hospital, the Fire Department of Puerto Leguízamo , the Colombian Civil Defense and the Red Cross.
After several intense days of searching, the troops found the men in the vicinity of the municipality La Paya, in the Comajiñá zone and thanks to the timely reaction of the staff of the National Navy and the Rescue Team, the two men were rescued safe and sound and evacuated in a river support boat of the National Navy to the municipality of Puerto Leguízamo, in Putumayo.
The two men, who had signs of dehydration were transported to the municipality hospital, where they received necessary medical assistance and now recover satisfactorily.
