Amazonas. In recent hours, men of the National Navy in coordination with the National Police, helped an indigenous woman give birth to a baby in the municipality of Leticia, in the department of Amazonas.
The 24-year-old woman, who was in the final stages of her pregnancy, arrived in a boat at the tourist dock in Leticia, seeking help from the men of the Coast Guard Station of the National Navy.
The members of the National Navy verified the state of health of the woman and immediately made the emergency call to the municipality's hospital requesting an ambulance due to the strong contractions. The woman began labor at the tourist doock with the help of the men of the National Navy and the National Police.
The baby and his mother are in good health conditions in the hospital of the municipality, where they recover satisfactorily.
So far this year, the Coast Guard Station of Leticia of the National Navy has carried out twenty humanitarian assistance procedures, managing to save the lives of thirty people, including children and adults.
