United States. After five days of operation at the Davis-Monthan Air Base in Tucson, in the United States, the air exercise Relámpago 3 satisfactorily concluded. This exercise included the participation of Kfir, KC767, F16 and A10 aircraft and combat pilots of the Colombian Air Force, the Arizona Air National Guard and the 12th division of the United States Air Force.
During its stay in Arizona, the Colombian Air Force carried out combined missions, sharing experiences with its North American counterparts, which, thanks to the different aircraft and types of mission carried out, provided a valuable apprenticeship in the defense of the airspace, as well as the relation consolidation of an important ally in the hemisphere.
"The interaction with the Colombian Air Force has been very fluid in all areas, the challenges of language, culture and logistics have been minimal. This is the example of how two air forces, two countries could work. I could see how they interact in Relámpago 3 as they will in Red Flag", said at the end of the missions, Lieutenant General Mark Kelly, Commander of the 12th United States Air Force.
