Sucre. In a coordinated operation of the National Navy and the Police, it was possible in recent hours, the discovery of an illegal hideout, with abundant material of war.
Thanks to information from Naval Intelligence, troops of the Marine Infantry Battalion No. 14 and the SIJIN of the National Police arrived at the rural area of Don Gabriel municipality, in the municipality of Ovejas, in the department of Sucre, where they found buried an illegal cache with 1,096 cartridges caliber 5.56, 30 cartridges caliber 7.65, 60 cartridges caliber 9 mm and eight cartridges caliber 38.
It is presumed that the illegal hideout would have been in the area for approximately 12 years and it would have belonged to the extinct front 35 of the Farc, who committed crimes in the Montes de María, a place where the National Navy conducts a permanent operation to decontaminate ammunition waste, which still remain because of the conflict lived years ago.
The material was put into custody of the Second Local Prosecutor's Office of the municipality of Ovejas, in the department of Sucre.
