In recent hours, troops of the National Navy in a coordinated and interagency operation with the Attorney General of the Nation, achieved the discovery of 54 kilograms of gold in the form of ingots. The gang “Clan del Golfo" hid it in a non-habited house, in the city of Cali, in Valle del Cauca. The cost of this material exceeds 6,100 million pesos.
Information from naval intelligence guided the troops of the Unified operation Group for Personal Freedom - Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) - Buenaventura, until the neighborhood 12 de Octubre, in the city of Cali, where they executed a search warrant in a house. After an arduous search, under a plaque in concrete in the kitchen, a metal container with 59 gold ingots was found.
According to the investigations, the organized armed group " Clan del Golfo" led by alias "Bacán" who commits crimes in this region of Valle del Cauca, had rented the house to hide the gold.
During the military operation, no arrests were made and the gold was put into custody of the Attorney General's Office, which determined that the ingots have a weight of 54 kilograms.
