Nariño. In the framework of the 'Tumaco Seguro Plan' and the 'Atlas Military and Police Campaign', the Military and Police Forces contribute to maintaining order and security in the urban area and rural area of the municipality of Tumaco.
In less than 24 hours, the Joint Task Force Hercules, through its Army and Navy National components, together with the National Police and interagency with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Office of the Prosecutor, obtained results in two operations against the Gao-r 'Guerillas Unidas del Pacific' and the narcoterrorist structure 'Oliver Sinisterra' under the criminal command of alias 'Guacho'.
The first operation in the framework of the 'Tumaco Seguro Plan' takes place in the area known as La Playita in the Viento Libre neighborhood, the urban area of the municipality of Tumaco, where during a firefight, the death of two individuals was reported and two more were captured; they are injured. These people apparently were members of the 'Guerrillas Unidas del Pacifico' along with those captured in this operation; it was in the same way possible to find their war material.
The second operation, this time against the Gao-r 'Oliver Sinisterra', was carried out in the framework of the 'Atlas Military and Police Campaign', in the San José del Guayabo farm, rural area of the municipality of Tumaco. The simultaneous search and raid operation at several points, resulted in the capture of three individuals who would be responsible for collecting extortion payments from fishermen, river transporters, merchants and farmers in the sector. In the same way, war material, communication equipment and military garments were found by troops.
Tin the two operations troops found three rifles, three pistols, two machineguns, 11 magazines, more than 70 cartridges 9mm and more than 150 cartridges 5.56mm.
