Bolivar. During control, surveillance and maritime security operations, carried out by units of the Coast Guard of Cartagena, it was possible to find 427 kilograms of cocaine, in the maritime area of Tierra Bomba.
The units carry out the inspection of the motorboat named 'Pionero'. It had in the bow, the illicit substance arranged in 449 packages. The ship, manned by four Colombian citizens, apparently had sailed for fishing in the area.
In the judicial process carried out by the Dijin of the Police, the Preliminary Initial Approved Test (PIPH) was applied to the substance, which led to certify that it was cocaine hydrochloride. The material found as well as the men who were on board the ship were put into custody of the authorities.
To date, the Caribbean Naval Force has found more than 54.6 tons of cocaine equivalent to an approximate cost of 1,685 million dollars, weakening the financial structures of criminal organizations that commit crimes in the Colombian Caribbean.
