Valle del Cauca. The minor, together with a relative, belonging to the Afro-descendant community "La Plata", in the Uramba National Natural Park, about 20 minutes of the naval base ARC "Málaga", arrived by boat to the military unit, requiring the services of medicine, because in this area, the communities do not have medical personnel, or an adequate health center.
After the assessment made by the Military Health of the National Navy, it was determined that she had problems to have his baby and required a cesarean. Immediately, an aircraft of the Aeronaval del Pacífico Group was set up, which moved them to the port of Buenaventura.
During the air travel, the military health personnel monitored the future mother, ensuring her vital signs and those of the baby. Upon arrival of the aircraft in Buenaventura, an ambulance was waiting for her, to transfer her to a hospital center in the city, where she received specialized assistance.
Melany, the name of the baby, was born healthy and she and her mother will be taken in a few days to the community "La Plata", where she will grow up accompanied by the National Navy, which works hand in hand with these communities, in productive projects articulated with the National Government.
