In operations of military control of area, as part of the Bicentennial Plan 'Heroes of Freedom', troops of the Joint Task Force 'Omega' neutralized three terrorist acts with improvised explosive devices in Meta, Guaviare and Caquetá; these explosives apparently belonged to Residual Organized Armed Groups that commit crimes in these areas.
The first incident occurred in the village Santo Domingo, municipality of Vistahermosa, in the department of Meta, where the troops found two Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) in gas cylinders of 40 and 60 pounds each.
In the same way, in the sector known as Raudal de Angosturas II, on the banks of the Guayabero River in San José del Guaviare, the troops of the National Army and the Navy found two devices, made in 40-pound gas cylinders filled with explosives and shrapnel, ready for be detonated against the military units in this area.
Finally, in the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán, in the department of Caquetá, troops found a barrel with 25 kilos of explosives.
Thanks to the expertise of our groups of Explosives and Demolitions team, Exde, these explosives were neutralized under controlled conditions maintaining security protocols, without hitting the civilian population or the troops.
