Arauca. The National Army in a coordinated and inter-institutional joint work with the National Police and the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, managed to strike a new blow that hits the economic and criminal capacity of the 'ELN Eastern War Front' with the capture of nine of its members.
Among the individuals captured by authorities there are three ringleaders. The first is alias "El Gordo Fredy", leader of militias of the ELN, Eastern War Front, with more than 26 years of experience within the terrorist group, trusted person of Gustavo Anibal Quinchia Giraldo, alias 'Pablito', ringleader of the Central Command and Arturo Archila Rincón alias 'Raúl', 'Nacho' or 'Fabio', main ringleader of the ELN's Eastern War Front. Alias 'El Gordo Fredy', was in charge of supply provisions for the criminal structure and he was also in charge of the coordination of extortion activities against inhabitants and representatives of the oil and agricultural sector of the department of Arauca.
The other two leaders known by the aliases of 'El Gordo Rey' and 'Macho' of the Front 'Domingo Laín Sáenz', with an experience of more than 10 years in the organization, responsible for the materialization of terrorist operations against the Security forces, against the Caño Limón - Coveñas oil pipeline and acquisition of war material for the criminal structure. He also conducted criminal intelligence for the execution of terrorist attacks and the collection of money from extortion against merchants, cattlemen and transporters of the region.
Within the military procedure, communication equipment was in the same way found, along with two handguns, two magazines and 50 cartridges. These elements will be probative material in the judicial process. The other six individual are part of the Terrorism Support Networks of the 'Domingo Laín Saénz' Front and were trusted members of the ring leader. Those captured whose area of criminal interference included the urban and rural areas of Fortul, Saravena and Tame, at this moment they are facing charges in the Prosecutor's Office in the municipality of Saravena, where they will be prosecuted for the crimes of conspiracy to commit crimes, extortion and rebellion.
