In a sustained effort, not only operational, but social, the Colombian Air Force constantly works in remote areas of the department of Chocó, this time reaching the village El Carmelo, municipality of Tadó, where medical services are precarious. It provided care and benefited more than 1,500 people in a Development Support Activity.
Very early, the Air Combat Command No.5, in Rionegro, in the department of Antioquia and the Air Command of Military Transport, Catam, in the department of Cundinamarca prepared their aircrafts to transport health professionals and logistics, to fulfill successfully this mission.
54 passengers and more than two tons of cargo left Bogota and Rionegro. It was necessary to move a C-295 aircraft and a Black Hawk helicopter, with the purpose of bringing aid to this vulnerable population, through medication and care in different specialties such as Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Audiology, Psychology and Odontology, among others.
