In the framework of the Military and Police Campaign 'Esparta', troops of the National Army in a joint work with the Colombian Air Force, coordinated with the National Police and interagency with the Attorney General of the Nation, achieved in Valledupar, the capture of alias 'Joselito', designated logistics leader of the self-named Front 'Libardo Mora Toro', of the Organized Armed Group GAO 'Los Pelusos', whose zone of criminal influence was the municipalities of San Pablo, Teorama and Ocaña, in the department of Norte de Santander.
The operation was carried out after a year of meticulous work of intelligence and follow-up of this individual, who maintained strategic movements to strengthen illicit finances and execute terrorist operations against the civilian population and the Security forces, in Norte de Santander.
According to military and police intelligence, this person had more than 10 years in the structure, he began his criminal experience in 2008, becoming the trusted man of Víctor Ramón Navarro, alias 'Megateo'. After the death of Megateo in the military operation, this person was appointed in 2014 to commit selective assassinations of civilian personnel and members of the Security forces through the Pistola Plan, in the municipalities where the Libardo Mora Toro Front conducted criminal operations.
The criminal abilities of this individual were to plan and execute terrorist operations, such as the strategic finding of snipers, installation of improvised explosive devices on the roads, and intimidation of the civilian people, forcing them to confront the Security forces to prevent operations against this terrorist structure. In 2018 he was appointed as logistics leader.
During the last year, he was accused of recruiting people to make them his main collaborators, which made it easier for him to mix with the population, preventing being captured, and giving continuity to the preparation of snipers and people who provided information on the movements of the troops.
Soldiers of the Second Division of the National Army, arrived at the facilities of a public place in Valledupar, where alias 'Joselito' was captured, making effective his arrest warrant for the crime of trafficking, manufacture, carrying narcotics, along with conspiracy to commit crimes and rebellion.
The man was taken by air to the city of Cúcuta, where he was later handed over to members of the Attorney General's Office.
