Under the program “Faith in Colombia, I am Santander,” soldiers of Artillery Battalion No. 5 “Capitan José Antonio Galán,” of the Fifth Brigade of the Second Division, built more than 500 meters of roads plaques in rural area of the municipality of Coromoro, in the department of Santander, to promote the mobility, development and progress of thousands of families in this region of the department.
Thanks to the arrangements carried out by the Victims' Repair Unit and the Municipal Administration, an investment of more than 300 million pesos was possible for the purchase of materials, acquisition of heavy machinery and skilled labor to direct the work carried out by 32 soldiers of this unit with the support of the community, during two months of hard work.
In the first phase, the military worked on the construction of 215 meters of plaques for roads that benefit 600 families of the hamlets Naranjal Alto, Naranjal Bajo, Hatillo Alto, Hatillo Bajo and the two roads that connect this sector with the municipality center. On the other hand, the troops and the community in the same way worked on the construction of another 253 meters of plaques for the benefit of approximately 2,500 families of 11 coromoro villages such as Los Pinos, Hatillo Bajo, Hatillo Alto, La Mina, Guachavita, Fical , Pueblo Viejo, Guadual, Playón, Zúñiga and Zuñiguita.
