The Navy of Colombia, through its specialized divers, unique in the country, trained for underwater inspections of all types of ships, neutralized the new modality used by narcotics trafficking organizations for the concealment of alkaloids inside sea boxes of the boats with PVC tubes configured to simulate to be part of the ship's pipelines and they also have crystallized the drug in a circular shape, in the port of Buenaventura, in the department of Valle del Cauca.
During an underwater inspection conducted by the divers of the Pacific Naval Force, a motorboat that covered the route Buenaventura - Panama - Spain, was inspected by troops and they found inside the sea boxes, four PVC pipes, painted with the color of the ship; these pipes were prepared to be part of the structural pipeline and were full of cocaine hydrochloride.
According to the information provided by the Naval Intelligence, the drug trafficking organizations that previously hid in the sea boxes, black bags with the alkaloid, made a preliminary analysis of the sea boxes to be able to manufacture the tubes with the exact measurements of the compartment, which were prepared simulating normality, through the grids of the sea boxes.
The "innovation" of drug trafficking organizations has been neutralized and counteracted again, thanks to the operations and heavy fight conducted against drug trafficking by the Navy of Colombia, which added to the experience and knowledge of the divers of the naval institution, on the configuration of any type of ships, obtain important blows to the criminal operations of these groups.
The four tubes were taken to the facilities of the Coast Guard Station of Buenaventura, where the alkaloid was found crystallized in circular shape to prevent the waste of the spaces that the rectangular packages would generate. Authorities found 103 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
