The pier of the Coast Guard Station of San Andrés was the perfect setting to gather the main military and civil authorities, as well as the guild of hoteliers of the island, in order to launch the second edition of the magazine Cesyp - 2019 .
The magazine is a project of the Specific Command of San Andrés y Providencia, CESYP, which aims to materialize the will of the Navy of Colombia in bonding Colombians to the raizal culture and, through its pages, show the work of its Military Forces of Colombia in conjunction with actors and institutions that through an articulation, guarantee the fulfillment of the constitutional mission in the Archipelagic Department.
In the second edition of this publication you will find 15 articles that narrate through their authors, each of the events led by the San Andrés and Providencia Specific Command, and their importance in the strategic relationship with the island community and raizal people, as well as with the guilds and associations that combine their efforts for the Defense and the National Sovereignty, the commitment for the care and preservation of the Seaflower Biosphere Reserve, as well as cooperation and development on the island.
In head of Rear Admiral Juan Francisco Herrera Leal, Governor of San Andrés y Providencia, and Captain Gustavo Adolfo Valbuena Perdomo, Commander of the Specific Command of San Andrés y Providencia, the launch of this edition was carried out. It was accompanied by music performed by the raizal artist Jimmy Archbold, who led the attendees have an approach to the island and raizal (local) culture, reaffirming the motto of the Command: 'United for the Archipelago', through the relationship and constant work for the people living in the island region.
One of the most representative moments was the tribute made to Pablo Emilio Montoya López, better known as 'Montoyita', a veteran of the Korean War, who received the applause of the attendees and a copy of the magazine that has an article in his name : 'Montoyita, a veteran of war in San Andres Island', written by Major Jorge Humberto Rivas Restrepo, former commander of the Army component in the archipelago during 2018.
