Units of the Navy of Colombia, attached to the Joint Task Force Omega, in development of military operations against drug trafficking achieved the discovery of approximately 35 kilos of coca base paste, which were being transported in a truck by the sector known as Muelle Madera, in the municipality of Cartagena del Chairá, in the department of Caquetá.
Through an inspection and fluvial control checkpoint, troops of the Colombian Navy and the National Army intercepted a vehicle with two passengers on board, who were near the dock area in order to cross to the other side of the river. At the moment of making the revision of the truck, it was evident that it had a double button in the body, which alerted the military.
After searching the vehicle in detail, troops discovered 12 packages, apparently, with coca base paste, which would have been hidden in the middle of the body to not be detected. The material and individuals transporting the alkaloid were put into custody of the authority for the respective judicial process.
