In a coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Navy and the Attorney General's Office, with the support of the National Army, the simultaneous capture of seven individuals, members of an Organized Criminal Group at the service of drug trafficking that contaminated containers in the port, was carried out in Buenaventura, in the department of Valle del Cauca.
To comply with arrest warrants issued against these criminals for the crimes of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics and conspiracy to commit drug trafficking, the troops of the Unified operation Group for Personal freedom, Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) de Buenaventura, and the Navy of Colombia, together with the General Prosecutor's Office of the Nation and a unit of the DEA, moved to the communes 1, 6, 8, 9 and 10 of the port city, where six of the individuals were captured.
In Cali, in the same way, troops captured an individual during a raid. This operation was supported by the Counterintelligence Command and the Military Police Battalion No.4 of the National Army.
Those detainees, 26 to 55, were put into custody of the Special Prosecutor's Office 40 against Drug Trafficking in Medellín, in the department of Antioquia, to be prosecuted for the crimes of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics and conspiracy to commit crimes related to drug trafficking.
With these captures, the Navy of Colombia in a coordinated work with the Attorney General's Office could prevent the entry of more than 100 million dollars a month to this Organized Criminal Group.
