New blow to the criminal structures in the Colombian Orinoquia, where the National Army in a joint, coordinated and interagency work with the National Police and the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, could strike a new blow that hits the economic and criminal capacity of the Front 'José Daniel Pérez Carrero 'of the ELN with the capture of six of its members.
The air assault from Black Hawk helicopters was carried out by soldiers of the Brigade No. 28, experts in this type of maneuvers who captured one of the most wanted men of the ELN in the Colombian Orinoquia. The military operation was carried out in the hamlet Puerto Principe, municipality of Cumaribo.
Among those captured there is alias 'Oswaldo' or 'Sargento Navas', second head of the Front 'José Daniel Pérez Carrero', who had been in this structure for more than 26 years.
Alias 'Oswaldo' or 'Sargento Navas', had as his main mission to provide security to 'Culebro Viejo' and his family, in the same way he was responsible for organizing different terrorist attacks against the energy infrastructure in Arauca. In the same way, he had the mission to influence different social groups and communities, seeking social protest to generate different acts of vandalism.
Alias 'Oswaldo' is accused of participating in different terrorist attacks, such as that one perpetrated in 2014 on the Caño Limón oil complex, where 13 people were wounded in the village of La Osa in the municipality of Arauquita, Arauca; in 2015, he participated in the activation of two explosive devices in two banks in Bogotá, leaving 10 people wounded; In 2008, he attacked on an Ecopetrol vehicle caravan that resulted in the murder of the driver of one of the trucks.
The other six captured are known by their alias 'Esponja', 'Rambo', 'Paola' 'Johan' and 'Karen', they are responsible for the materialization of different terrorist operations against the Security forces, acquisition of war material for the criminal structure; criminal intelligence for the execution of terrorist attacks; the collection of money extorted from merchants, ranchers and transporters in the region.
Seven rifles, 1,767 cartridges of different calibers and 45 liters of a substance very similar to granulated anfo (explosive) are part of the material found.
