In coordination with the National Center for Recovery of Personnel, CNRP, the Air Combat Command No. 2, CACOM 2, of the Colombian Air Force in Apiay - Meta, launched a successful humanitarian mission of recovery of personnel of search and rescue, in a helicopter “Angel”, on the Guayuriba River, following the request of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD). Three workers had been trapped in the place by a flood at night.
With a Black-Hawk UH-60 helicopter, equipped with the rescue elements for this type of humanitarian air missions, it was possible to transport to the CACOM 2 the heavy machinery operators who were working on risk management structures in that sector. They spent about 8 hours inside their vehicles in the middle of the flood that took them by surprise.
The workers thanked the crew and the Institution for the daily operation they conduct for the Colombians, after an effusive greeting, the men received the coin marked with the phrase "A metal angel saved my life ", as a symbol of hope and as a reminder of the men who day by day risk their lives to save the lives of others.
The Air Force is ready 24 hours a day to arrive wherever any Colombian needs it.
