Four peasant families living in difficult conditions in the rural area of the municipality of Betania, in locality 20, in the south of Bogotá, are happy because they are opening their houses thanks to the operation of the Bicentenary Heroes of the High Mountain Battalion No. 1 and a human team of the Catalina Muñoz Foundation.
For four days these men and women of the National Army and the Foundation worked tirelessly to build houses for these four families living in the Sumapaz region.
To this project, the Bicentenary Heroes contributed their labor throughout the rapid construction activity of the prefabricated houses, combining their knowledge in tasks such as the installation of floors, walls, tiles, windows, doors, electrical and water systems of potable water, among others, with the main objective of supporting a social operation that will surely change from now on the lives of these families who base their livelihood on agricultural work in Sumapaz.
In the same way, all the generous hands got together to paint and beautify the facilities of the school of the region, where 60 students will find this week a more pleasant environment for their academic activity.
