The operations of territorial control continue with the purpose of neutralizing the terrorist intentions of the organized armed groups.
The National Army through Engineers Battalion No.7 'Carlos Albán Estupiñán', in an interinstitutional work with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, in territorial control operations, framed in the Bicentenary Plan, achieved the discovery and subsequent destruction of an illegal hideout belonging to the organized armed group, GAO in Spanish, Clan del Golfo in the hamlet Alto de Pompeya, municipality of Villavicencio, in the department of Meta.
This hideout contained four M-26 grenades, a 40-millimeter caliber grenade, 194 caliber 7.62 millimeter cartridges, 669 caliber 5.56 millimeter cartridges, five metal magazines for 5.56 millimeter rifle, two metal magazines for AK-47 rifle, one night scope for long-range firearm, a tactical camouflage uniform and three multipurpose vests.
The material found was put into custody of the Attorney General's Office and subsequently destroyed following the protocols established by the EXDE anti-explosive group of the National Army.
