Alias 'Jairo' for 23 years belonged to the front 21 of the extinct Farc. He was head of the mobile column 'Daniel Aldana', of the front 25 and the Central Joint Command, front 'Adán Izquierdo'.
Units of the Fifth Division, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps), in the hamlet Cay, of the municipality of Ibagué, during a military operation in compliance with the Bicentenary Plan, captured alias “Jairo” or “Andrés”, along with two other individuals, who during the last five months had been planning to form an armed group, generating a considerable threat in this part of the department of Tolima.
This individual came creating some cases of insecurity charging extortion of money against the people of the villages Juntas, Pastales, Llanitos, Santa Rita, La Plata, Miranda, El Bosque, Tres Esquinas, San Juan de la China, Cay and the municipality of Villarrealrepo. At the same time, he was carrying out forced recruitment to create an armed structure, in which he was inviting criminals or former combatants to form an armed group similar to that which for years hit the department of Tolima.
At the time of the capture, the soldiers of the Infantry Battalion No.18 'Coronel Jaime Rooke', of the Sixth Brigade, reported the finding of a long range firearm and materials of exclusive use of the military forces. Those apprehended were put into custody of the Prosecutor's Office, for the crimes of firearms trafficking, extortion and conspiracy to commit a crime.
The troops of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army, continue contributing to the security and tranquility of the inhabitants of this touristic part of the city of Ibagué.
