In sustained operations against the Organized Armed Groups - GAO in the southwest of the country, the Air Combat Command No.7 of the Colombian Air Force, in joint and coordinated operation with the Third Division of the National Army and the National Police, achieved the neutralization of the presumed fourth ringleader in command of the front José María Becerra of the GAO-Eln and another member of this organization, in the department of Cauca.
This result was obtained in the framework of the national operation against the ELN, in its fourth phase, which is led by the Military Forces and the National Police. After intelligence operations of the CACOM-7, it was obtained the discovery of this important leader in the sector La Cristalina, in the village Agua Clara, municipality of El Tambo; Three fragmentation grenades and a 7.65 pistol were in the same way found at the place.
The presumed ringleader, Navides Chilhueso Noscué, known as alias 'Tigre Indio' had been in the illegal criminal structure for 24 years. He is responsible for terrorist operations against the Security forces and the training of the personnel under his command. With him there was one of his trusted men, it is alias 'El Flaco', who was in charge of his personal security.
Alias 'Tigre Indio', had an arrest warrant for the crimes of aggravated rebellion, aggravated homicide, manufacture, trafficking and carrying of firearms, ammunition and explosives of restricted and exclusive use of the Military Forces.
