The illicit substances production complexes were discovered in the Catatumbo region by men of the Special Energy and Roads Battalion No.6.
In operations, framed in the Plan of the Bicentenary Campaign “Heroes de la Libertad”, men of the Task Force Vulcano, managed to dismantle in rural area of the municipality of Tibú, in the department of Norte de Santander, three laboratories of coca base paste belonging to the Organized Armed Group GAO-Eln, Front 'Juan Fernando Porras Martínez'.
The illegal structures that were in the village Campo Seis, stored 1,078 gallons of refined gasoline (also known as pategrillo) and 385 gallons of coca base in process along with 250 kilograms of ammonia sulphate, 125 kilos of lime and 315 kilograms of cement, substances used in the manufacture of the alkaloids and 35 metal barrels with capacity of 55 gallons each.
The laboratories were valued at approximately 183 million pesos, an important figure that hits the financial capacity of the GAO-Eln, front Juan Fernando Porras Martínez, a criminal structure that commits crimes in this area of the country.
