This drug would cost more than 90,000,000 COP and would be destined for the center of the country to be distributed by microtrafficking.
In compliance with the Ayacucho Plan, troops of the Eighth Brigade of the Army, during this week obtained two results against drug trafficking: one of these took place in the village of Barragán of the municipality of Pijao, Quindío and another on the vía Línea, over the municipality of Calarcá, initially finding more than 87 kilograms of marijuana and arresting two individuals who were transporting it; later, eight more kilograms were found by troops and one individual was arrested.
Thanks to intelligence work, it was possible to establish through human sources, that two individuals would transport these illegal goods in a car and that they would have pass through the village Barragán, municipality of Pijao. Thus, while the troops were in a checkpoint, they stopped the vehicle and after the vehicular search they found 10 packages containing a substance with characteristics similar to marijuana.
On the other hand, on the La Línea road, which leads from Calarcá, Quindío to the city of Bogotá, they found eight kilograms of marijuana, in a car, by a trained dog that detected the existence of the hallucinogen; later they proceeded to seize the narcotic and arrest the alleged responsible for transporting it.
Subsequently, the material found and those arrested were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office, who were charged with the crime of manufacturing, trafficking or carrying narcotics
