After the murder of a citizen on Saturday July 13 in the municipality of Hato Corozal, in the department of Casanare, the Lock plan was launched and in a quick reaction of the troops of the Sixteenth Brigade of the Eighth Division of the National Army, it was possible to capture in flagrante delicto two individuals, alleged murderers.
The operation was carried out in the village known as Las Tapias, in the municipality of Hato Corozal, on the road that leads from the municipality center to the bridge La Cabuya, where soldiers of the Mounted Cavalry Group No.16 “Guias de Casanare”, intercepted two individuals who were traveling in a taxi and a motorcycle. Troops found two 9-millimeter pistols, four magazines and 48 cartridges for the pistols; in addition troops also found in the vehicle ID documents and belongings of the person had been murdered minutes before.
According to intelligence work, the individuals are alias 'Manchas' and alias 'Jhon', who would belong to the so called group Heroes y Martires of the Eastern Front of the ELN, which commits crimes in the departments of Arauca, Casanare and Boyacá. These individuals, who apparently had been at the service of this organization for four years, would act as hired assassins of this organized armed group, responsible for committing murders in the three departments.
In the same way, these individuals presumably in 2018 would have participated in the homicide of a soldier in the municipality of Fortul, in the department of Arauca.
The individuals were put into custody of the authority, with judicial support of the National Police and the Prosecutor's Office.
In the same way it is important to say that on July 3, troops of the National Army thwarted a terrorist act that was planned to be carried out by this organized armed group in La Cabuya bridge sector, between Casanare and Arauca, using an explosive device, which was neutralized under controlled conditions by the soldiers of the Group Guias de Casanare.
