The Military Forces acquired 25 ambulances (22 basic and 03 medicalized) with an investment of $ 4,815,750,000 pesos, which will benefit more than 670,000 users: active, retired, pensioned and their families.
The General Command of the Military Forces is, along with its second line of operation of the military strategy, the Health of the members of the Forces, projecting a better service policy, efficiently guaranteeing a timely and quality service, under the policies of a Equitable health resources distribution.
A constant and joint teamwork has been conducted by the National Army, the Colombian Navy and the Colombian Air Force, in search of the improvement of the provision of health service to all users and beneficiaries of the Health Forces Subsystem of the Military Forces, under the commitment to proceed for the general interest instead of the individual’s.
In this way, 25 ambulances were acquired with technical characteristics to operate optimally on any terrain, due to difficult access throughout our national geography. Their biomedical technology helps interoperability, being relevant due to the mission of the Military Forces, complying with the Resolution 2003 of 2014, which is taken as a reference to define the scientific technical capacity of the Establishments of Military Health.
These vehicles will be distributed in Cartagena, Buenaventura, Cali, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Medellín, Cúcuta, Montería, Florencia, Yopal, Ibagué, Neiva, Armenia, Tunja, Coveñas, Corozal, and other cities, becoming a fundamental factor in the chain of assistance that together with the trained personnel of Military Health, will be attentive to the management and administration of all the elements to provide a complete and effective service.
