From January 14 to 19, 2020 the different units of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) have made 11 captures in the country.
This year, 26 bandits have been captured and 3 people have recovered their freedom, eight percent above, compared to 2019, impacting several criminal groups.
Taking into account that extortion is one of the most constant situations in the country, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) have been working in every corner of the Colombian territory in order to protect the freedom of people and preventing them from being victims of intimidation; all of these through the different campaigns of prevention.
As a result of the military operations, the troops of the Military Gaula have made 11 captures in Magdalena, in the department of Norte de Santander, Oriente, Meta, Huila and Valle, highlighting the latter department with four captures. The vast majority of the individuals were arrested in flagrancy when they received the money from extortions against the community, especially the businessmen of these regions. The individuals detained by troops had guns.
