Intelligence works established the woman's location and make effective the arrest warrant issued against her for the crime of aggravated extortion.
Katerin Yulieth Bedoya Flórez, was put in house arrest after her capture by units of the Huila Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Ninth Brigade and its CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) component, in the municipality of La Virginia, in the department of Risaralda. The woman had a court warrant for the crime of aggravated extortion.
Bedoya Flórez, who did not accept the charges indicted by the accusing prosecutor, according to preliminary investigations, had received several amounts of money sent by money transfers, apparently, form victims of extortion under the uncle-uncle modality (the extortionist, through phone calls pretends to be a nephew of the victim and due to troubles demands money from the victim).
The capture was the result of intelligence work that led to the discovery of the woman, who on October 2, 2019 had received for the last time 600 000 pesos from the extortion against a citizen of the department of Huila.
According to the investigative work, in her criminal records, the woman would have been charged several times with the same offense; she would have received 40 million pesos.
It is noteworthy that the woman has six other investigations for the same crime, as a suspect.
