Various operations are carried out in the Fifth Brigade of the National Army to meet the needs of this segment of the population and improve their quality of life.
The troops of the Second Division of the National Army conducts operations under the Old Age Plan, in order to strengthen ties with the community and improve the living conditions of the elderly.
In this sense, through the Fifth Brigade, the soldiers of the Artillery Battalion No.5 Capitan José Antonio Galán, in Socorro, in the department of Santander, work on the construction of a kitchen for a couple of elderly people who were victims of the conflict, they had lost part of their home and did not have adequate space to prepare their food.
With the support of the City Hall, the community and the workforce of the soldiers, a construction that would be valued at about six million pesos, will have a positive impact and without any cost to this family, who from now on will not have to take other risks to prepare their meals outdoors.
These operations guarantee a better life for our older adults and are part of the works that, as heroes of the country, the troops of the National Army are trained to execute. In this way, troops show the support of the institution not only in security, but in the same way in social development.
