The activity was carried out in Tibú, in the department of Norte de Santander, and led producers and traders to make agreements nationally and internationally.
In order to boost the local economy of the department and to make visible the products and services of the farmers of the region, the Engineer Battalion No.30, José Salazar Arana, in coordination with the Mayor's Office of Tibú, conducted in the municipality of Tibú, Norte de Santander, the first Business Meeting of Tibuya’s growers, in the frame of the National Program for Substitution of Illicit Plantations.
The event was held in the Main Park of the municipality, and was attended by approximately 200 growers, who showed the audience and investors their plantations of bananas, cassava, cocoa, among other basic foods of the family basket.
“We thank the Engineer Battalion No.30 José Salazar Arana, for the support to the First Farmers Market of the municipality of Tibú. This activity is an initiative that farmers have to take out their products and thus be able to combat any act of illegality,” says Corina Durán, mayor of Tibú.
This activity seeks to be carried out periodically in the municipality, since it empowers the agricultural sector of the Catatumbo region at national and international level, as well as other local producers who can join this initiative.
