As part of the commitment, dedication to service and contribution to the prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic, a couple of military belonging to the Air Combat Command No.7 and the Escuela Militar de Aviación, in Cali, implemented an initiative consisting of designing face protection masks, to be donated to the staff of health professionals of all the military units of the Colombian Air Force.
This initiative comes from Lieutenant Luisa Oviedo Bernal and third technician Ferney Millán Martínez, who have made around 80 masks, at home, made with two 3D printing machines. The goal is to manufacture about 600 masks: 10 of their initial production have already been distributed to the Grupo Aéreo del Casanare, in Yopal; 40 to the Air Combat Command No.2 in Apiay, Meta; and 30 at Marco Fidel Suárez Air Base, in Cali, Valle.
This project arose out of the need to equip nurses, doctors and other members of the health area with all the basic elements of protection, in order to facilitate the health work of military health establishments, who are the first line of containment for the management of clinical cases, managing to provide adequate care and service to the members of the institution and their families.
