Ventilators, 25 intensive care unit beds and other medical elements to equip the Departmental Hospital of San Andrés Islas, landed on board the presidential plane FAC 0001, as a contingency measure for the authorities to face the Covid-19 in the region.
The humanitarian transfer was carried out by the Air Combat Command No. 3, in Malambo, in the department of Atlántico, after the vital elements were obtained by the San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina Governors, with the collaboration of the Barranquilla Health Secretary.
Knowing that the departmental hospital only had 10 intensive care beds and several of them did not have a ventilator, the National Government and the Colombian Air Force prepared the aircraft to carry out this important transfer.
After an hour and a half of flight, the aircraft landed at the Caribbean Air Group, where the logistics for the unloading were carried out and in coordination with the Departmental Health Secretariat, the transfer of the elements to the Hospital took place.
