After receiving the report by the river transporters on the blockade of the Atrato river channel, due to a huge branches dam caused by the constant rains, crew of the navy Infantry River Battalion No.16 and officials of the River Inspection, conducted a whole day activity to the cleaning of the sector, which led to the recuperation of the river traffic between the village of Turbo with the other riverside municipalities.
In the Activity an area of approximately 350 meters was cleaned, in which there were all kinds of polluting agents floating in the main water source of the Urabá region in the department of Antioquia and in the department of Chocó. Some of the solid residues that formed the obstruction were plastics, wood elements, textiles, glass, tires, polystyrene, among other wastes which were removed manually and with backhoes.
