In the departments of Casanare and Arauca, soldiers of the National Army planted more than 1,000 trees, in commemoration of World Environment Day.
The Faith in Colombia program of the Eighth Division, the Comprehensive Action Battalion No.8 and the Mounted Cavalry Group No.16 Guías del Casanare have been carrying out operations that seek to contribute to the reforestation of the Colombian Orinoquia and on the occasion of the World Day of the Environment planted 1,050 trees in commemoration of this important day.
It is important to highlight that the planted trees are native to the region and the reforested areas were La Iguana and Caño Seco in Yopal; the Vijagual of the municipality of Pore; and the military Base of the Brigade No.18 in Arauca.
The deputy of the department of Casanare, Carlos Fredy Mejía affirmed: "we are accompanying Faith in Colombia and our Glorious National Army in the framework of the celebration of the International Day of the Environment, so that we plant trees in our Colombian Orinoquia".
The men and women of the National Army will continue to support environmental activities with the aim of compensating for the environmental impact that the human being has generated on nature. We all can conserve and protect the environment with small actions that make a difference. We are custodians of the environment!
