The individuals were traveling in an ambulance in which they carried 150 kilograms of coca base paste, along with a large sum of money and weapons, which were put into custody of the authority.
In compliance with the Heroes of Liberty Bicentenary Campaign Plan, troops of the Rapid Deployment Force No. 2, attached to the Hercules Joint Task Force, captured two alleged members of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Los Contadores, who traveled in an ambulance on the road from Tumaco to the city of Pasto, near the kilometer 113, in the municipality of Barbacoas, in Nariño.
The movement of the ambulance called the attention of the military unit at the checkpoint in the area, so a search of the vehicle and its passengers was carried out; troops found around 150 kilograms of coca base paste inside.
The individuals, a man and a woman, tried to bribe the military unit to evade their arrest, immediately the apprehension process continued. During the operation, it was in the same way possible to find a pistol with its respective magazine and ammunition, as well as cash. Those captured and the materials were put into custody of the authority for prosecution. They must face charges of trafficking, manufacture or carrying narcotic drugs and carrying firearms.
