The decisiveness of the Colombian Navy against the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN, in the department of Chocó does not give truce. During three operations, the Pacific Naval Force found and destroyed three camp areas where illegal substances were processed illegally.
After arduous search work in difficult-to-access terrain, troops of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.22, attached to the Navy Infantry Brigade No.2, find these illegal infrastructures that contained solid and liquid precursors inside for the production of coca base paste.
The events took place in the sectors Puerto Bolívar, Cabré and Guapagra in Bajo Baudó, where troops guided by information from Naval Intelligence found 543 gallons of liquid precursors and 45 kilograms of solid precursors.
Among the material found, gasoline, sulfuric acid, herbicide, ammonia acid and lime, after complying with the established protocols, were destroyed in controlled conditions in the area.
With these operations, the Colombian Navy counteracts criminal activities and one of the illicit sources of financing for the Ernesto Che Guevara front of the Organized Armed Group, ELN, which commits crimes in this area of the Colombian Pacific.
The Colombian Navy invites citizens to report any illegal or suspicious activity that puts their safety at risk, by calling toll free lines 146 and 147, available 24 hours a day.
