Those captured, would belong to the organized armed group, Gao, Los Ratones, substructure of the Eln. They are accused of extortion, forced displacement, homicide, trafficking in war material and trafficking and carrying of narcotic drugs.
In a heavy operation carried out by the troops of the Second Brigade, a military unit of the First Division of the National Army, in conjunction with the Air Combat Command No.3, of the Colombian Air Force, in coordination with the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Bolivar and inter-agency with the first Prosecutor's Office, captured 17 individuals. They are reported to be members of a feared group known as Los Ratones, which is the substructure of the GAO Eln that commits crimes in the south of Bolivar.
This important result is achieved in different municipalities in the south of the department of Bolivar, in a simultaneous operation, where, thanks to military intelligence, the capture of these criminals was achieved. They would be members of the substructure Luis José Solano Sepúlveda, of the ELN. They commit crimes of extortion, forced displacement, murder, trafficking in war material and trafficking and carrying of narcotic drugs.
These people would be under the orders of the ringleader Bercelio Campuzano Arrieta, aka Raton, who named his group as Los Ratones.
The captures are a heavy blow to this criminal group; its criminal operation were causing fear in the communities, by selective killings and forced displacement, due to the increase in intimidation and threats against the life of people who were accused of being collaborators of the Military Forces.
These 17 individuals were put into custody of the authorities to begin their judicial process.
