This year, the Pacific Naval Force has managed to find 2,077 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, 923 kilograms of marijuana and capture eight members of the GAO Clan del Golfo.
Inside a house and in two illegal warehouses, the authorities find 698 kilograms of illegal substances, as well as war and communications equipment belonging to the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo in the municipality of Juradó.
Following a search warrant issued by the local prosecutor's Office of Bahia Solano, in a coordinated operation, the Colombian Navy and the National Police found 200 kilograms of illicit substances. The material was hidden in a hideout inside a house in the municipality of Punta Piña, in the municipality of Juradó, an area bordering Panama.
During the searches, crew members of the Pacific Naval force and National Police units found nine sacks that contained 206 rectangular packets of cocaine hydrochloride. In the same way, during the operation, where no captures were reported, more than two million pesos in cash, a shotgun, a communications radio, three chargers and three radio antennas were found.
Continuing their search and control operations in the same municipality, the units found two illegal hideouts belonging to this organized armed group. The individuals stored 498 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride that were inside 17 sacks.
The material found was transported aboard a Maritime Unit of the Colombian Navy, to the facilities of the Navy Infantry Battalion no.23 in Solano Bay, for the initial preliminary test to detect hallucinogenic substances and subsequently it was put into custody of the local eighth prosecutor's office.
