Due to a forest fire that broke out in the northern area of the José María Córdova International Airport in Rionegro in July, which affected a large part of the vegetation, several institutions and entities joined forces to reforest more than 30,000 square meters.
Thanks to the participation of the Colombian Air Force, National Police, Cornare, Airplane and Conhydra, this space is reborn, with the planting of 240 species of native trees.
This activity was carried out in the perimeter loading zone, where soldiers, police officers and members of these entities joined forces and under the biosecurity measures were given the task of planting these trees, with the aim of reducing the environmental impact generated by the fire.
