The National Army Integral Action and Development Support Command, in international cooperation with the United States Embassy in Colombia, delivered 100 school kits consisting of: backpacks, notebooks, rules, pencils and colors, which were distributed to vulnerable families who have been hited by the COVID-19 pandemic, in the municipality of Arenal, south of Bolivar.
These kits were transported from Bogota to the department of Bolivar. After a study of the needs of the inhabitants, the soldiers of the Integral Support and Development Action Battalion No.1 and the Jungle Battalion No.48 of the First Division of the National Army, in an inter-agency work with the civil authority of Arenal, defined on this occasion that the beneficiaries would be inhabitants of the neighborhood Nueve de Enero.
Families in this zone have been victims of various social problems for many years, including violence, which makes them one of the most vulnerable communities in this municipality. These educational tools were distributed to 100 students.
Once again, the National Army reaffirms that the main objective of such activities is to promote the continuity of children and adolescents in school, taking into account all the difficulties that have been presented by this virus.
