Thanks to intelligence work, it was possible to find the drug and capture a red-handed person.
In a coordinated work with the Regional Section of Anti-Narcotics Police Intelligence 4, troops of the Specific Command of Cauca, through the Rapid Deployment Force No.4 of the National Army, in a territorial control operation in the municipality of Villa Rica, Cauca, captured an individual carrying approximately 982 kilograms of marijuana, apparently belonging to the residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-r) Estructura Sexta Columna Móvil Dagoberto Ramos Ortiz.
The event occurred in Quintero village, where the men of the Rapid Deployment Battalion No.11 went to the place in response to intelligence information, and found four vehicles parked, a tanker truck, a Chevrolet Swift, a van and a motorcycle. The drivers fled and abandoned their vehicles when they noticed the presence of the troops. However, the quick reaction led to the capture of one of them, who will have to answer to the authorities for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying of drugs. He was put into custody of the competent authorities.
At the place, 982 kilograms were seized, distributed in 18 bundles with 989 packages, with a substance that by its color, smell and texture, resembles marijuana. This result directly affects the finances of the residual GAO for about 1.29 billion pesos, which reduces its criminal activity in the region.
The drug found was put into custody of the authorities.
